Cancellation and Refunds

ServerQ services are not sold with a trial period or a return window. What that means precisely, when it does not apply, and how to cancel.

Last updated:

The short version

Once a server has been provisioned to you, the service has been performed and there is no refund of the period it was provisioned for. Before it has been provisioned, you have the ordinary statutory fourteen days. You can cancel a recurring service at any time, and it then stops renewing rather than stopping immediately.

We would rather you knew that before you paid than discovered it afterwards, which is why it is on the pricing page as well as here.

Why there is no return window

A server is not stock that comes back to the shelf. When you order one, capacity is allocated, an IP address is assigned out of a finite block, an operating system is installed and the machine is handed to you with full root access. All of that happens within minutes and none of it is recoverable by returning anything.

Turkish consumer legislation recognises this: a service performed instantly in electronic form, where the customer consented to performance beginning immediately, is outside the right of withdrawal. We rely on that exception rather than on a term of our own invention, and we ask for that consent explicitly at checkout instead of burying it.

When a refund is due

  • The order was paid for but never provisioned — most often a dedicated server still being prepared. The statutory fourteen days apply and you may withdraw without giving a reason.
  • You were charged twice for the same period, or charged for a service you had already cancelled. Tell us and we correct it; this is a billing error, not a refund request.
  • We could not deliver what was ordered — the configuration is not available and no equivalent is acceptable to you.
  • A force majeure event prevented the service for more than thirty days, in which case the unperformed period is refunded.
  • A service credit is due under the service level commitment. That is a credit against future invoices rather than a cash refund, and it is set out at /sla.

Domain names

A domain registration is submitted to a registry that does not reverse it. Once the registration has been made it cannot be cancelled or refunded by us or by anyone else, including where it was ordered by mistake or the spelling was wrong. Check the spelling on the order screen; it is the last moment at which it can be changed.

How to cancel

Open a ticket in the client portal, or write to [email protected]. For a formal withdrawal within the statutory period you may also write to the registered office or the KEP address listed in the Distance Sales Agreement; no particular form of words is required, only that it is clear which service you mean.

Cancellation stops the next renewal. The service runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and the data is deleted after that — take a copy of anything you need before the end date, because after deletion we cannot produce it.

Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is wrong, tell us before you tell your bank. A chargeback raised without contacting us first suspends the service while it is investigated, which usually costs you more than the amount in dispute. We have never refused to look at an invoice.
